Let’s face it — window decoration for Fall are always the most fun especially this time of year! Whether your theme for autumn is spooky for Halloween or festive for Thanksgiving, you can have so much fun with fall window decorations and treatments! Here are some ideas to get your creative juices flowing!
Window Decorations for Fall
Halloween
Silhouettes
Trying to find a fast decoration that even the kids can help with? Look no further than silhouettes. All you need is some paper, a pair of scissors, a window and a light! Cut out some spooky shapes, and tape them to your window. When the sun goes down and the trick-or-treaters come out, turn on your lights and the Halloween shapes will shine out of your windows!
Bloody Handprint Window Clings
These sound hard to make, and look even scarier! But all you need is some white school glue, a cutting board, plastic wrap and red and blue food coloring (and a hand, of course). Cover your hands with the white school glue, and make a base for each handprint on the plastic wrap (about an eighth of an inch thick). Then, use the red and blue food coloring to create a red concoction with the glue. Cover your hand in that, and press that down onto the base you created. Wait for it to dry, peel it off and stick it anywhere!
Christmas String Lights
Who said Christmas lights are only for Christmas? String lights are probably the easiest way to dress up your windows at any time during the year. You can even hang them in shapes to make your windows look extra put-together!
Thanksgiving
Wreaths
If you think wreaths are only for front doors, think again! Wreaths are a fabulous way to dress up the windows of your house. Especially if you have a two-story home, putting a big wreath in your front window will look beautiful! Wreaths can be changed out for every holiday, too! Make it a family affair and have members of your family put their own special touch on your wreath.
Thermal Curtains
Since Thanksgiving is closer to the cold, winter months, thermal curtains will be a great investment. Not only do they keep light out, they keep warmth in too – making for a lower energy bill, which is never a bad thing!
